WELCOME CHILDREN! WELCOME YOUTH!
It is my prayer that each child/teen who comes into Central will knows that he or she is precious to Jesus and to us! It is my joy and privilege to lead such a great team of committed, gifted teachers and assistants here at Central. Many are parents, some are grandparents, others young adults. Each of them love Jesus and desire to give of their time to serve Him and be a blessing to teach the next generation of disciples. We hope each child/teen will come to
- KNOW Jesus personally
- GROW in His love and
- SHOW His love by serving others.
Here is a summary of our ministries for Youth/Christian Education. You may have a question not covered here, or just want to talk with me personally, please call me at the church office. (Please note that have our teachers and assistants complete PA State clearances and that our classrooms are handicap accessible.)
Jesus said—“Let the little children come to me, do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” –Mark 10:14 God has called me to be a joyful blessing to each little one (and bigger child too!) that comes to Central. And, it is my desire to effectively lead our CE Team to follow in this joy!

NURSERY
Birth to 2 (Precious Ones) * 2 to 4 (Little Lambs)
Our Nursery Coordinator, Mrs. Margy Trimble is a mother of three and also is one of our 3-year old staff teachers for Kids Central Preschool. She leads our Nursery staff and parent partners to offer a loving, safe and nurturing time for our littlest ones. Our Little Lambs also enjoy a Bible time and activity.
CHILDREN’S WORSHIP – WOW – WONDERS OF WORSHIP
Children Ages 4 through Grade 2
A Children’s Sermon and Wonders of Worship program are offered during each Worship service at Central. Our Children’s Sermon is excellently led by Mrs. Elaine Kindl. Our children (and adults too!) love to listen to the short sermon taught on the theme our Pastor will be preaching. Children are then dismissed to WOW!
- Group’s Wonders of Worship curriculum offers music, video teaching segments, Bible lessons, activities and crafts.
CHILDREN/YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sundays 10:00-11:00 AM
Our dedicated Sunday School hour is intentionally structured into age-appropriate “small groups” for children from age 3 to youth (Grade 12). We are blessed to have many gifted and committed Bible teachers who love children and serve each group (class) Sept-June. Two adults serve in each class. New students are always welcome.
Children ages 3 through Grade 8
We are “walking” together in Christ using the Faith Alive! Christian Resources curriculum. Our children and youth are led through the Bible in a kid-friendly way, helping them to KNOW Jesus Christ personally, GROW in their faith, and SHOW others His love through service and godly choices. We have partnered using this particular curriculum for its commitment to helping children build community, celebrate diversity, teach effectively to diverse learning styles, and not forget to have FUN!
Youth in Grade 9
Teens meet each week under the instruction of our Associate Pastor, Pastor Jim Thomas for our Confirmation Class.
Youth in Grade 10-12
Teens meet together in our youth room (donuts provided!) and together with two adult leaders, learn how to apply the Biblical foundation and education they have received to look seriously at current issues and concerns facing teens.
CHILDREN’S MISSION
We care about those who are in need around us and around the world. The middle school youth under the leadership of their teachers Mrs. Hanick and Mrs. Patterson spend part of the winter term each year to head up our Heifer Project. For many years the middle school youth have taught our younger children about Heifer--sharing with others in need. They have organized and held a Heifer Fair and seen God increasingly raise thousands of dollars through our body each year for the Heifer families.
